I went with Tal to Cabarete for 10 days to finish this 2009’s year Surfing dominican republic, finish this crazy year in caribbean, what a dream
This island is located in Caribbean, eastern two-thirds of the island of Hispaniola, between the Caribbean Sea and the North Atlantic Ocean, east of Haiti. The town of Cabarete located on Dominican Republic’s Amber Coast is recognized as one of the world’s top destinations for wind driven board sports primarily kiteboarding and windsurfing. And don’t forget the surfing, the beach break is amazing and consistent everyday. So our special guest Susi Mai took us for a your to show us Encuentro and others secrets spots.
The main surf on the north coast is situated around Puerto Plata where there are a number of easily accessible surf spots. Many are relatively uncrowded ensuring tonnes of waves. There are also surfspots on the south coast of the island but these are less consistent.
The island really is a beautiful place to visit and if you want a relaxing couple of weeks away, not spend too much money and get in some good surf then the Dominican Republic could be for you. We fell in love with this paradise, people are so warm and authentic. the food is excellent and so cheap compare other Caribbean islands. The best time for wind is definitely summer but do not worry, there is always something to do in this island.

Hey mon, Why do you have to name the spots? I have been surfing and shooting around that area for more than 10 years now and never named certain breaks. Sometimes it’s best just to say Dominican and not name each spot
Hi Alex
Why not ?… I have checked those spots with local surfer an they gave me them…
