Kitesurfing photos with Go Pro Camera: Since I discovered the GoPro® HD Cameras, I have been using it almost on each kite session I do.

Most of the photos were taken with the HD Surf Hero. GoPro’s HD Surf HERO is the world’s only 1080p HD on-board video and still photo camera. Professional quality 1080p / 960p / 720p HD resolutions record at 30 and 60 frames per second (60 fps in 720p). Easily mounts to any surfboard in seconds. So light, even top pros claim they don’t notice the camera on their boards.

The HD Surf HERO can also shoot 5MP photos automatically every 2 seconds while you surf. With the simple press of the shutter button on the paddle out you can capture photos during your entire surf. Other photo modes include 5 / 10 / 30 / and 60 second time lapse as well as single shot, triple shot, and self timer modes.

10 days in this part of North Carolina. Cape Hatteras is a cape on the coast of North Carolina. This spot is unique with 2 sides where you can ride perfect waves and other with perfect flat water paradise. We went the first week of may and the forecast was generous, more than 40 knots and a study wind at 25 knots almost everyday.

Like say my Buddy Greg: “The Chesapeake is no stranger to adverse conditions and while we were there in mid-november it was not surprising that we became stranded on the island of hatteras with storm surges from hurricane ida.

Mother nature was showing her strong hand so the Atlantic ocean side was very rough and messy so we decided it would be safer to ride on the sound side where the water was calm and in certain areas mirror like!  what a dream to kite on flat water…”

The conditions are:
North East (side off) and South West (side on) Shallow, flat-water riding with wind
speeds varying from 10 to 50 mph. (The yearly average wind speed is 20 mph.)

I found this unique Camera via my good friend George from Kiteflix.com, movies talented producer.

Most of the photos were taken with the Surf Hero. This camera Shoot 56 minutes of TV resolution video with sound of 5 megapixel photos automatically for over an hour while you surf.  Waterproof to 100 feet/30 meters. Features a 170º ultra wide angle lens and high-resolution 5 megapixel sensor. The lens is so wide, it can capture a 6’2" surfer from head to toes while he/she is riding a 6’0" surfboard or regular tip like my Caliber 130.
